A Free Audio Described Tour for Adults

Join us for an exclusive tour of Bristol Museums’ special exhibition celebrating John Constable’s iconic painting The Hay Wain, currently on loan from The National Gallery. In this tour we will explore the evolution of landscape art, from the 17th Century artists who influenced Constable’s work, through to the modern paintings, installations and films sending a more overt political message today. As well as description, you will have the opportunity to handle various items representative of the exhibits.

Getting here

Bus numbers 1, 2, 4, 8, 9 and 72 all travel past the museum up

Park Street and from the Clifton Triangle.

Arrival

Please arrive at the museum and enter the building to the left of the main entrance on Queens Road. The double glass doors to the museum will be just past some bollards and down a short curved driveway.

Our team will be on hand to greet you and guide you into the building. If you are parking on university road and would prefer to access the museum via our side entrance please do get in touch using the contact information at the bottom of this page.

Access facilities

• A platform lift into the museum from the main entrance.
• A passenger lift with tactile buttons to all public areas except Sea Dragons.
• Two adult-sized wheelchairs for loan.

• A wheelchair accessible toilet
